Robert A. S. Huthart was born in Hong Kong and comes from a prominent Eurasian family. He was educated at Diocesan Boys' School in Hong Kong before attending San Diego State University, where he graduated with honours in Accounting. Following graduation, he worked in New York City with Arthur Andersen & Co. as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Thai, he has developed business relationships across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia throughout his career.

He also enjoyed a successful career in the Equestrian industry, owning a horse farm, working as a professional horse show instructor, and holding a racehorse trainer's licence.

Returning to Hong Kong in 1979, Mr. Huthart joined his family's Venture Capital business, where he was involved in a number of business and investment ventures. These included Bonaventure, a high-end garment business; Zenith Refinery, a precious metals recovery operation; and Pacific Platers Ltd., a semiconductor-related business that was subsequently sold to Heraeus GmbH in 1981. In 1978, he also invested in Disco Disco nightclub, which brought nightlife to Hong Kong Island and started Lan Kwai Fong.

In 1982, he founded Huthart Group, which became one of the region's leading Executive Recruitment Firms specializing in banking and finance. Today, he remains actively involved in business, real estate, and private investment activities and regularly participates as a speaker and moderator at business and investment conferences, where he shares perspectives on markets, leadership, entrepreneurship, and long-term value creation.
